I would like to share my comment on Dr. George Koo's article on Asia Times: https://www.asiatimes.com/2019/05/opinion/help-the-american-imbeciles-are-coming/ Dear Dr. Koo, Methinks the American Imbeciles are not coming. They are already here and they're in charge. The imbecility is everywhere. When I read or watch the mainstream media nowadays, there is no longer any attempt to apply finesse or subtlety to insinuate or equivocate. I used to work in that business. How I miss those golden days when lying should not be bald-faced. With very few exceptions such as yourself, every talking head or pundit is either an ignoramus, a liar, a hypocrite, or any combination of the above. As for politicians, Americans keep electing the most brilliant imbeciles and the worst liars, so if they don't lie and do something stupendously stupid, Americans will think that it's not democratic. Watch the Democrats clamor for more democracy, which has produced our own Imbecile in Chief, among earlier less grievous ones. You'd think politicians should have a minimum threshold IQ and morality to be eligible. H.L. Mencken said in the fifties, "As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron." I thought he was talking about Dubya Bush. I thought that the American voters couldn't do worse than that, until they re-elected Bush, then I wasn't so sure. What is the chance that Trump is the lowest we can get? Maybe people like Shumer will take up the slack. Soon they'll be outlawing Sweet and Sour Shrimp Balls and Chicken Fried Rice. They'll ban Bonanza reruns because Hop Sing was a Chinese spy. Mencken also said: 'Nature abhors a moron." Do we have hope? Peter Man

Normandy Landing (10/6/2019)17/5/2022 (10/6/2019)
The Allies forgot to invite the greatest contributor to their victory. Here is a Winston Churchill quote dated June 10, 1943 from Parliamentary records: "On the European front, the most important development of the past year has been the crushing offensive of the great armies of Russia against the powerful German army. Those Russian forces have destroyed and are destroying more of the armed power of our enemies—troops, planes, tanks, and guns—than all the other united nations put together." He was talking about the Battle of Stalingrad which ended four months earlier. The German eastern front had lost over a million soldiers which could not be replaced. The Germans also lost the myth of invincibility. In another couple of months, the Germans would lose another major battle (Battle of Kursk, the largest tank battle ever) on that front, leaving them defenseless against Soviet advance into Berlin. Stalin took his sweet time for a detour into Eastern Europe, but in the end, it was the Soviet army that entered Berlin. The Soviets had turned the tide of the war. This happened while they had not received any direct assistance from their Western allies, and despite unfulfilled promises by their Western allies that a second front would open on the Atlantic coast in 1942. The German war machine was irretrievably broken nine months before Normandy. The Soviets also paid the greatest human cost. They had sustained 27 million deaths, of which 14 million were Russians, about 13% of their whole population. The Americans suffered 450,000 casualties, about the same as the Brits. This serves to fill in the memory gaps created by Western historians and mainstream media. "History is primarily the glorification of murderers as told by liars to idiots." -- anonymous To understand more about the Second World War, read Jay Janson's article below about how it was possible for the bankrupt and the hyperinflation-wrecked Germany to miraculously transform into the world's mightiest military power during the 1930s, when the world was in the throes of a great depression. Jay is a nonagenarian who fought in the Korean War and has seen much of the world. https://countercurrents.org/2019/06/wwii-holocaust-could-not-have-happened-without-corporate-usa-rearming-germany-to-destroy-the-ussr Caveat: links to Wikipedia are for casual reference only. I wrote a message to Marjorie Cohn commenting on her OpEd article "An attack on Iran would violate US and international law." I have followed her articles for many years and it is important that there are people like her working for peace. But in order to cure the sickness, one must understand and acknowledge the disease. I share my message here: Hi Marjorie, Unilateral sanction of Iran and forcing other countries to follow suit is already an attack. Remember the Iraq embargo that purportedly caused unnecessary death of 500,000 children? You don't need bombs to slaughter people nowadays. Violate laws? Haven't they been doing that for a long time already? What do you call the devastation of Iraq and Libya among myriad other examples? Did anyone stop them? Who granted them the power to commit these atrocities? Who gave them the unlimited war budgets to cause havoc, death, and suffering? Who granted war criminals impunity? The answer is not some intangible "they." America is the greatest democracy in all of history; it has a government of the people, for the people, and by the people. The people are therefore responsible. Until the people of America see the blood on their hands and do something about it, nothing will change. We have met the enemy and he is us.

Free Lunches (5/1/2019)17/5/2022 (5/1/2019)
Everyone says there are no free lunches. It is patently false. Everyone has spent their early years eating free lunches provided by their parents and family members. Then they grow up repeating this drivel that there are no free lunches so that they can justify their cruelty towards their fellow humans and vilify the free lunch system that perpetuates the human race. Yes, the system that keeps us alive is the one that sustains and helps the helpless, and it is not based on greed or capitalism. Have you seen any contracts signed by the babies to repay their parents for the free lunches with floating rate interest compounded annually?

Dave Lefcourt posted the following article as an urgent call for peace: End the provocation to Russia and China that could lead to war, a war that the US cannot win. Dave Lefcourt is a left-wing peacenik. My comment is not meant to denigrate Dave or his work, but to present a different point of view. Here is my comment: If protests ever worked, there would be no war. To those in power, a peaceful protest is but a slight irritation less significant than a flea bite. After all, who are the US leadership? They are Americans elected by the people and given unlimited power to wage war. Notice how there is never any arguments from the people about being saddled with unmanageable debt to fund all these wars, so that the 1% and military industrial complex can profit from them. Notice how the people send their sons and daughters in harm's way so that they can come home in pieces to be buried in honor. Notice how these democratically elected leaders threaten, sanction, starve, terrorize, torture, bomb, and slaughter millions from all around the world with impunity, and then they retire with honor, glory, and wealth. Most good people do not know all these are happening under their nose of course, because we're mostly informed by our free media. To be fair, we should not blame it on Trump or the 'leadership.' The people allow it to happen. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. said it best, "A man can't ride your back unless it's bent." If the people of America really do not want war, all they have to do is the following: Gain control of the three branches of government and de-fund the military. Make them apply and justify for everything. You can use a fraction of the war budget to fund free college, Medicare for all, housing allowance, and basic income for all Americans. What's left can go to infrastructure and vocational training. If war-mongers want to advocate for wars beyond defending the homeland from invasion and wars which are unsupported by constitutional declaration of war by legislators, then let the advocates (1) pay for a license and a higher tax rate for war advocacy; (2) pay for all war expenses (non-tax-deductible) out of their own pockets; (3) send themselves and their own children into the line of fire (the children may of course disown their parents and denounce them publicly to avoid going); (4) receive no political protection if they are charged by international courts for war crimes; (5) put up a hefty bond in case the country is sued for damages; (6) be disowned by their country if they're ever captured; (7) be banned from taking public office or corporate directorship for life; (8) be deprived of any overt media support on pain of prohibitive fines for both the advocate and the offending media, (9) be forbidden from gaining any profits or benefits from their wars, and (10) if they come home after not winning a clear victory and gaining peace with honor, be given to the angry mob and thrown over the Tarpeian Rock. Peaceful protests sounds nice, but if the people of America want to stop the war-mongers, they'll have to take the war to the war-mongers. Let the war-mongers have a taste of their own wars, then peace will have a chance.

The following is a true story. In 2005, I was introduced to a gentleman with a historical background in China. His name is Sidney Rittenberg.* He is an American who had spent thirty-eight years in China since 1945, sixteen of which under wrongful incarceration, mostly in solitary confinement. Sidney said that he was invited to a foreign correspondent gathering in Beijing. They invited him because they thought he would stand on their side in their campaign against China. Sidney went and listened to how these foreign 'journalists' discussed and coordinated their actions to smear China. The foreign journalists were not very thorough in their assessment of Sidney Rittenberg. His autobiography "The Man Who Stayed Behind" was rather clear on where he stood. Sidney never blamed anyone for his being caught up in the turbulent currents of the times. Despite everything, he still loved China. On the other hand, he expressed disdain for these foreign journalists, who were not in China to report the news truthfully. Sidney confirmed what I had for some time suspected. The freedom of the Western Press is really about their freedom to prevaricate, equivocate, and obfuscate. Sidney wondered aloud why these people were allowed to hold this kind of gatherings in Beijing right under the nose of the Central Government. In any case, I would afterwards always read Western mainstream news reports carefully, and I would always do more research if I want to understand the events being reported. On the other hand, people who have cultivated a biased view from a lifetime of consuming BS will be happy to believe in any lie as long as it reinforces their prejudice. It will be very hard to convince them that there is a different reality beyond the lies, and therefore I will not try. * Read Sidney Rittenberg Obituary

In the course of reading European history, I was surprised to learn about people everywhere that are said to be Germanic. I think Caesar first used the term in his Gallic Wars. They were barbarians east of the Rhine. Later on, we learn that there were Germanic tribes west of the Rhine as well. In fact, the Celts and the Germans were very similar. Maybe they were the same but with regional differences. Now studies show that their languages are different branches of Indo-European. Later the Germanic Goths showed up. The Ostrogoths ruled Italy and caused the fall of the Western Roman Empire. They were followed by the Lombard, who were also Germanic. Italy was basically Germanic. Even Dante’s family was Germanic. The Visigoths also sacked Rome, but settled in Iberia. So Germanic people were in Spain and Portugal. The Franks, who became the French, were a Germanic people converted into Roman Catholics, learned to speak Latin, and were Rome’s allies. Charlemagne formed the Holy Roman Empire from his Frankish kingdom. The Germanic Vandals went to North Africa and built a kingdom that included Sicily. The Angles and Saxons that went to Britain were Germanic. England means Land of the Angles. The Nordic Viking was Germanic. They went everywhere, including Ireland, Britain, Greenland, Iceland, Russia, France, and Sicily. The Normans came from settled Vikings in Normandy. They too formed the kingdom of Sicily. The Normans under William the Conqueror conquered England and his descendants still occupy the throne. It’s just that I had thought that Germans were always in Germany, but actually they were all over the place.

Who Lost China? (11/7/2018)16/5/2022 (7/11/2018)
To understand the truth, one has to dig a little deeper. Most of us have heard about the Opium Wars, the Taiping Rebellion, the First Sino-Japanese War, and the Boxer Rebellion; these disasters for China occurred during the last half century of the Manchurian Qing dynasty. We have to clarify that the Manchu tribe that ruled China for 268 years under the Qing dynasty was a foreign tribe originally from south Siberia. The Qing’s weakness in its waning years caused many Chinese scholars and military thinkers to consider reformation or revolution to deal with the Western onslaught. The progressive Emperor Guangxu (光绪) wanted to adopt constitutional monarchy, but the plan was thwarted by the Empress Dowager Cixi (慈禧). The only other choice left for the Chinese was rebellion and revolution, replacing the Qing dynasty with a Chinese republic. One of the first revolutionaries who took up that stance was Dr. Sun Yat-sen. Dr. Sun was educated in America and adapted the American system with Chinese characteristics for China. A local uprising in 1911 at the city of Wuchang (a part of modern Wuhan) accidentally succeeded, leading to widespread rebellion, and culminating in the fall of the Qing dynasty in 1912. Dr. Sun however did not have an army, and the republic was quickly hijacked by the military. Thus started the Era of the Warlords. Dr. Sun had hoped that his republic would be supported by the West, but it was in vain. Western powers in China had enjoyed the privileges and benefits of semi-colonialism, and it was easier for them to continue the plundering with the warlords in power. The Chinese warlords were constantly fighting among themselves and triangulating between competing Western powers and Imperial Japan for support. The foreign powers obviously felt that a fragmented China was easier to control and exploit. Without Western support, the revolution led by Dr. Sun failed. During the First World War, the Beijing warlord was considered the legitimate government of China by foreign powers. The Chinese government entered the war on the side of the Allies, and sent 150,000 laborers to the European front-lines. Approximately 10,000 Chinese workers would die for the common cause. Chinese academics were hopeful that after winning the war, China could rid itself of semi-colonialism under the principle of self-determination expounded by Wilson’s Fourteen Points. But at the Paris Peace Conference in early 1919, China did not have a voice, and the previous German colony in Shandong was ceded by the victorious Western powers to Japan. China was the only ally who did not sign the Treaty of Versailles. China was completely on its own. It could not depend on a single ally to stand up and speak righteously about this travesty. This is where it all began. Chinese academics and students were furious. They started a national protest known as the May Fourth Movement. Many of them realized that they could not depend on the good will of the West to gain true independence. Dr. Sun meanwhile gave up on waiting for American support and, with the uncertain backing of a fickle warlord, set up his own government in the province of Guangzhou (old name Canton) in the south. When the Russian Bolsheviks fought a civil war to bring communism to Russia, some Chinese academics became attracted to this new form of political ideology which brought about a successful revolution of the common people. Thirteen academics got together in Shanghai and formed the Chinese Communist Party (in the absence of its two founders). Dr. Sun Yat-sen realized that to unify China and to rid the country of semi-colonialism, he needed an army. Dr. Sun received the help of the Soviet Union and he co-operated with the Communist Party of China (CPC). Many senior members of the CPC were also members and senior executives of Dr. Sun’s Kuomintang (or KMT, the Chinese Nationalist Party). The two political parties under the leadership of Dr. Sun and with the help of the Soviet Union established the Whampoa Military Academy. The school would churn out most of the military leaders who would defeat the warlords, fight the Japanese, and fight among each other in the Chinese Civil War. Dr. Sun died prematurely from liver cancer. The KMT, the government of the Republic of China (ROC), and the Nationalist army came under the control of one person, Chiang Kai-shek. Chiang Kai-shek with the support of the Western powers purged the communists and persecuted them in a period of so-called White Terror. Thus started the Chinese Civil War. Eventually, the Chinese Communist Party won the Civil War. America backed the wrong side, and it would not be the last time. America actually had a lot of China Hands who knew the situation in China and advocated for engagement with the Chinese communists, but the powers that be in Washington would have none of it. When the soul of America gave rise to Joseph McCarthy, rapprochement between the two countries was hopeless. China went its own way, as if the Americans had never come … until Nixon. According to this story, the original cause of the break between China and the US goes back to the end of the First World War, when China's Western allies betrayed China's aspirations in order to placate Japanese demands, causing the May Fourth Movement, which was led by one of the Founders of the Chinese Communist Party, Chen Duxiu. The rest, as people say, is history. Caveat: links to Wikipedia are for casual reference only. One should be aware that Wikipedia articles are not always accurate or without bias. US-China Trade War (23/7/2018)15/5/2022 (23/7/2018)
(10,900 Quora views) Posted at Quora (The following has been edited without changing content or context. The unedited post is available on Quora) Almost everyone gets the trade war wrong. One of the most important elements of American supremacy is the US Dollar hegemony. The hegemony is gained by virtue of America’s unparalleled military power and the rule that oil (among other essential commodities and technologies) must be purchased with the US Dollar—the Petro-Dollar. It basically allows America to play the game at a great advantage. Most countries do not have sufficient oil (as well as other essential commodities and technologies) to fuel its economy and, therefore, must earn or borrow the US Dollar from America. Most projects of global supply chain and infrastructure for trade are not possible without capital in the form of US Dollars, and since America prints it or digitally creates it, while others have to earn it from America, the game of international trade cannot be fair to begin with. By the way, the trade rules are also, by and large, written by America. The abundance of easy capital for America doesn’t merely create favourable conditions for American corporations in the global arena, it also attracts more brains to America, feeds an ever expanding military industrial complex and provides the means to punish anyone who does not comply while enjoying impunity for the abuse of its power. The military industrial complex in turn supports technology development, owns the media as well as the narrative, and controls global resources and trade routes, sometimes inciting limited conflicts in foreign countries, creating more lopsided competition in favour of corporate America, which is owned by the elite at the top of the food chain. Such is the world and no one says life has to be fair. "Nature is merciless," Lao Tzu said it, and you can take it to the bank. Dollar Hegemony allows America to enjoy financial supremacy, trade supremacy and military supremacy. Since America can create ‘wealth’ in the form of US Dollars out of thin air and buy the world’s natural resources and manufactured goods with it, while the rest of the world must accept it, the country can basically go into unlimited debt with impunity. After all, it’s the people of America who are in debt, but the elite who owns the power and material wealth. To service the ballooning national debt, the government can simply saddle the people with more debt and create the money to pay the interest. Since the US Dollar is the world's reserve currency, and it is also the most traded because of American trade supremacy, whatever amount of paper dollars created will actually help the local economy in America, whereas the rest of the world has to deal with the inflation. America is blessed to enjoy such power for a long period. The benefits, however, flow mostly to the corporate and the elite. Pundits complain about inequality, but the people of America support this. They elect their political representatives, who always approve saddling the people with unsustainable debt to finance the unlimited military budgets, endless wars and unilateral sanctions, making enemies where none exists, while refusing to finance education, healthcare and social benefits. The American people elect the representatives who implement globalization based on the cherished American capitalist ideals, filling the coffers of American corporations while the American workers most needing help are ignored and forgotten. And when election time comes around, the dispossessed workers will be incited to blame other countries for stealing their jobs. The elected officials, corporate elites and military leaders are granted impunity, honour and wealth by the people for their service. America is a great democracy. It is the government of the people. Why blame its government and politicians? Why blame corporations? Why blame other countries? The American people are ultimately responsible. To summarize, America’s power is based on its military supremacy, which enforces the use of the US Dollar for the purchase of essential resources and technologies, at the same time, allowing America to create as much of the US dollars as it likes, making it even stronger in technology and trade, which, in turn, makes its military even more powerful and which allows the creation of more US Dollars to build more awesome weapons, therefore, increasing economic activities and GDP in America while creating inflation for the world, causing those countries and peoples who cannot defend themselves to meekly comply to American demands, while the poor and jobless Americans swallow the lie other countries have stolen their jobs and are to blame. So, why the trade war? China, after forty years of hard work, with millions of migrant workers giving up family life and youth, paying with sweat and tears in a generation of sacrifice for American dollars, selling its environment and its health, keeping its head down and biding its time in long-suffering silence [韬光养晦] according to the advice of Deng Xiaoping, has arrived at a point where it has built up its ability to survive and thrive in the world. It holds enough American debt that cannot be ignored. It has enough production capabilities and brains allowing it to stand on its own two feet. It has the ability to build its own advanced weaponry powerful enough repel any threat. It has built its own infrastructure essential for economic development and will now do so for other less developed countries, mostly without getting involved in other country's politics. China applies Confucianism in its foreign policy: "Never do unto others what you do not wish others to do unto you." On the other hand, because of its economic success, China has become the first independent country (one with no American military base or soldiers stationed within its borders) with the strength, wherewithal and will to present a serious challenge to the Dollar Hegemony. Politicians in Washington who are hostile to China understand this challenge of the Dollar Hegemony is extremely dangerous to the American elite’s wealth and privileges. Unfortunately, a hot war with China is impossible. It will not happen because these Washington politicians are not stupid; they don’t want to lose everything, which would be the result of a hot war. They also fear the American public might wake up one day and reckon their elites are to blame, and the party will be over. The only war these Washington hawks can start against China is a trade war (of which technology war is a subset), while the American public is still swallowing the lie that China is to blame, while America can still create more dollars by saddling the people with more debt, while the dollars can still feed the military industrial complex, and while the dollars can inflate the American GDP and boost stock prices. What else can they do? America has lost a lot of its competitiveness playing for so many years in a system rigged in its favour. Printing ‘wealth’ in the form of dollars has been America’s greatest strength, but now China's development threatens to take it away. The trade war, however, will further damage America’s economy and cause more political turmoil in America. It will give China the impetus to speed up the usage of RMB for international trade. Other independent countries affected by the trade war will make similar efforts to speed up decoupling from the US dollar. The trade war will accelerate China’s development of essential technologies and products requiring RMB or SDR payments, or a currency based on a common commodity such as gold. China will take the opportunity to encourage the development and usage of alternative banking systems not under American control and wean the world from complete dependence on the US financial system. The US dollar will continue to be significant, but it will not be a hegemon. People will have true alternatives. Most people do not understand the survival skills of both the Chinese government and the Chinese people. China will likely view this trade war as an opportunity to speed up necessary reforms. I’m guessing it maybe the reason why they are not so eager to settle. Trade talks are not moving forward. Besides, it is pointless negotiating with the current administration, which is doing a great job destroying America’s credibility. This loss of trust is most damaging, and it is long-lasting. China has an old saying: "It takes ten years to grow a tree, but it takes a hundred years to build trust." Trust is hard to establish but easy to lose. All business and trade depend on trust. Every independent country trading with America will actively work towards decoupling, preparing for a day when America decides to unilaterally start another trade war. We can assume all of America's 'allies' are thinking in this direction as well. Hopefully, in the not too distant future, America will not be able to print money with impunity or fund its military industrial complex with unlimited money. Unilateral American sanctions will not be effective. Its foreign policy will necessarily become less intrusive and more inclusive. The American people will learn to elect responsible politicians who will not enjoy impunity. Lying demagogues will be thrown from the Tarpeian Rock. Mass media will be broken up and editors made accountable for disseminating lies and half-truths on behalf of some hidden agenda. A benign and enlightened America may emerge, and perhaps we will have peace and harmony in the world again. It will be up to the great nations and their responsible leaders to get together to work out a way for all humanity to share in the fruits of human development, which has been built on the backs of all humanity. Sorry to offend Ayn Rand lovers; capital didn’t build civilization, people did, and they did so while consuming the food produced by the original wealth producers, the peasants. Taking care of each other, helping each other, and sharing with each other is the only way for humanity to survive and succeed on earth and beyond. Quora Comments: Steven Mak: "The best answer I have read regards to the US and China." Vincent Ng: "peter man that was a succinct and great article, keep it up. hope to read more of your articles." Patrick Diamond: "Seems to have it correct!" Anthony Tan: "... you’ve explained it in great detail. Thumb ups (sic), hope more people get to know what’s really going on in this world. Thanks." PM Response: "Which is why I think either Trump and his advisers are delusional to believe they can wage trade war with China and the rest of the world, or Trump is deliberately accelerating the fall of the US hegemony. China has stopped talking with all the President’s men, and it appears they want to give Trump a lot of rope to hang himself with. Meanwhile China has resumed doing business with North Korea. The fall of the unipolar hegemony is a much bigger deal for the world than North Korea dismantling their nukes. We may have Trump to thank. He may deserve a Nobel Piss Prize after all." Nini: "Such a great nickname for the hypercritical (sic) nobel peace prize Peter! You are a genius :)" Chris Marler: "Obama.. He has been the single US president that has had the most filibusters and rejections for anything he wanted to do." PM Response: "It’s American democracy, the best political system in the history of humanity. The people elected Obama and the people elected Trump. The people also elected the Congress and the Senate. This is the best we can do folks. Deal with it." Anthony Tan: "The public chose (sic) to remain blissfully ignorant, gets manipulated by the media and refuses to hold the government accountable. So both, in a way, deserves each other. Well, let's see if Trump will really get to drain the swamp." PM Response: "It is actually willful ignorance. Most people accept the lies because it reinforces their prejudice. They’ll scream loudly Hillary is a warmongering harridan, not that she is not, but Obama was worse, and he lied to put himself in power. But somehow people are okay with it, and the delusional voters wept with tears of joy their man was put in the place of power. Most people say Hillary is aligned with Wall Street and the MISC, not that she is not, but the people ended up electing a billionaire misogynist, white supremacist and lying moron because he is going to make America great again with more lying, bullying and plundering. Somehow, the people believe a capitalist who has not spent one minute of his life working for the public good will suddenly decide to serve the people of America. The people keep saying they’re all for human rights, freedom, the rule of law and fairness, but they blindly support unlimited budgets for the MISC while they don’t have money for education, healthcare and social benefits. The people want to drain the swamp, but they elect a bloviating billionaire pond scum with the IQ of alga to do it. What do they expect? When the capitalist elites destroy the American middle class because they don’t give a shit, the deprived underprivileged voting public accepts without question somehow China is to blame. Ask yourself this: how come people will say Trump, or the MSM or the politicians are lying imbeciles, except when they say China is to blame, and they’re suddenly wise sages? Chris Marler: "Money is the source of evil and greed." PM Response: "Money is but a tool of exchange. It’s the exploitative capitalism, the lies underneath it and the masses supporting it makes money evil. It’s about time we start thinking about a new paradigm." Jake Liu: "IMO, US hegemony will not last. Because they have successfully brainwashed people (to believe) they are where they are because of freedom and democracy. But the reality is far more cruel." PM Response: "Herodotus had warned about the human lot 2,500 years ago but don’t expect the proudly ignorant public to learn. A string of good fortune is always followed by hubris and nemesis. This is the Law of Nature." Jamal S.A.: "What China does it (sic) to bring down that dollar status? " PM Response: "China has been setting up various means to reduce USD dominance, but it cannot do so blatantly, and it cannot do anything openly to promote those alternatives. With the trade war in place, China will be able to do so with a very good excuse, especially when Trump started it. China will probably wait until Trump and his tariffs collapse on its own. These alternatives will be more valuable as more countries will feel they should not put all their eggs in the USD basket. China will also make these alternatives powerful if it can tie them up with essential resources and technologies. Suppose China creates something unique and desirable and says anyone will be welcome to enjoy the fruits provided they pay with RMB. Currently, world trade in USD vs RMB is probably 100 to 2, maybe more. If the ratio goes to something like 5 to 2, USD hegemony will be in trouble, and it will cause many problems with the American unipolar system. Without hegemony, America will not have the funds for its military. It’s like a three legged stool with one leg weakened. The whole thing will collapse if someone sits on it. Jamal S.A.: "I am not believing in another single global reserve currency. There shall be a basket of currencies." PM Response: "The current dominant socio-economic system of the world is based on fundamental lies. We can try all we can to reform currency and banking, but eventually things will break down because of these lies. If human beings want to have a better world, we need to take the red pill and wake up from our stupor. The new world will need a new paradigm. Money will still exist but it will not be powerful or will it be desired. Money will return to being a tool rather than the goal of human greed. Human aspiration will be lofty and no longer include the accumulation of lucre. We will not be worrying about people gaming the system or banks playing havoc with derivatives. We will have no fear of robots and AI taking our jobs. I intend to include the solution in my book." Bao D. Nguyen: "I blame Jesus, the evil god." PM Response: "Jesus of Nazareth never travelled outside of Judea, and his small following was only one of the many Jewish sects wanting to make some sense of their silent YHWH in the face of physical and spiritual destruction of the Jewish people by the Roman Empire. People made up the rest. If you want to find blame, blame it on the voting public of the best democracy in human history. Should I quote George Carlin? "Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they suck. Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don't fall out of the sky. They don't pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer. It's what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you're going to get selfish, ignorant leaders... So, maybe, maybe, maybe, it's not the politicians who suck. Maybe something else sucks around here... like, the public. Yeah, the public sucks.”

Who saved the world in WW2? (8/7/2018)15/5/2022 (8/7/2018)
This is a Quora post written in response to a U.S. soldier pouring scorn on the polite and peaceful Canadian commenters, trotting out the same old drivel about how the world should be grateful that America saved them in World War II. If he says so, it must be an indisputable fact. Or is it? Allow me to cast some doubts. For readers who don’t know much about history, here is a quote from Sir Winston Churchill taken from British Parliament records June 10, 1943: “On the European front, the most important development of the past year has been the crushing offensive of the great armies of Russia against the powerful German army. Those Russian forces have destroyed and are destroying more of the armed power of our enemies—troops, planes, tanks, and guns—than all the other United Nations put together.” * That was a few months after the Battle of Stalingrad and shortly before the Battle of Kursk was to begin. After the Battle of Kursk, Hitler was practically finished. He had nothing to stop Soviet tanks from rolling into Berlin. The Soviet Union had crushed the German war machine single-handedly with no direct help from their Western Allies, who had been promising a second front on the Atlantic coast since after Pearl Harbor. The Battle of Kursk ended in the fall of 1943, nine months before the Normandy Landings. Soviet Red Army did in fact enter Berlin, not the Western Allies. The Soviet Red Army also went to Manchuria and crushed the 700,000 man Japanese Kwantung Army (with 200,000 subsidiary) within a 10 day campaign, contributing to if not directly responsible for Japan’s decision to an unconditional surrender. Japan did not surrender after America dropped the atomic bombs to slaughter Japanese citizens. As for the US military suffering defeats, it first happened during the Korean War, when poorly armed peasant soldiers from China, wielding personal weapons, with no war preparations, no winter clothing for minus 40 winter warfare, no transport, no heavy artillery, and no logistics, had to brave unchallenged bombing from the air to drive the American soldiers back to the 38th Parallel. Only some wrong-headed people who have not studied history would believe the propaganda that anyone saved the world on their own. In destroying the German war machine, the Soviet Union suffered 24 to 27 million casualties. Every family was touched by what they called the Great Patriotic War. America suffered about 450,000 casualties. Victory over the Nazis was gained by joint effort of the allies, with great contribution by the Soviet Union, not by any single party. * This was erroneously attributed, perhaps for propaganda purposes, to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt at the beginning of the wartime documentary "Why We Fight" directed by Frank Capra.
